Julie Beauce
Canadian French Specialist
Avid outdoor enthusiast
Music and language teacher
Julie moved from Quebec to Revelstoke, British Columbia over 20 years ago. She started her mountain journey as a humble tree planter and snowboard instructor. Her career took a sharp turn, after a decade or so, towards linguistics. Starting with teaching French to locals: adult classes at Okanagan College, elementary level school students through Canadian Parents for French Program, and music classes for l’école des Glaciers (District 93—British Columbia).
Languages define her passion. Translating from English into French, and offering Creative Writing Content constitutes her way to share her appreciation for languages. Being precise with her terminology and localization has led her to specialize in Technical Translation. She’s now working towards a French Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of British Columba (Studies in French Language, Culture and Literature) to refine her localization skills, keep leaning, and obtain her Level C2 European Common Frame of Reference for Languages, an international benchmark (CEFR).
Through the years, her passion for the mountains has led her to progress, study and work in the Safety field. Whether in avalanche country, keeping athletes safe while coaching ski racing on the highest vertical meter resort in North America or filling up the First Aid attended position while cooking in high elevation camps at over 2,000 metres up in the Columbia Mountains.
After many years of Translation, Julie offers quality translations in many domains in which she is well versed. She translates as an associate member of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC) and looking forward to discovering all your translation needs.
When Julie isn’t writing or offering translation services, you can find her playing in her backyard, either snowboarding, split boarding, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, rock climbing, surfing, or hiking, alone or with her dog, friends and family.
